The model of the BTR-40 in 1:160 scale for N gauge, designated SPW-40 in the NVA. This vehicle with four wheels based on the GAZ-63 had an open troop compartment and served in the 1950s and 1960s for reconnaissance and as a command vehicle. Fits well at the head of a convoy on a village street or in front of the headquarters building of an early NVA barracks on the N gauge layout.
