(N) M109G (Active)

As a model in 1:160 scale for N gauge, this M109G self propelled howitzer shows the early German version in active position, with the barrel raised as in a firing position. In the 1960s the Bundeswehr took over the American M109 and adapted it with its own optics, radios and a modified breech, hence the G in the designation. The M109G was the start of a long series of upgrades that kept the howitzer in service for decades. Fits well in a position behind a hedge or during an exercise at the edge of a village on the N gauge layout.
