With its ladder raised and extended, this model shows the Mercedes-Benz Vario 814D with DLK 12/9 turntable ladder in 1:120 scale for TT gauge in active position. The numbers 12/9 describe what the ladder can do: 12 metres of rescue height at 9 metres of outreach. That makes it smaller than the well known large turntable ladders, but thanks to the compact Vario chassis it also fits into narrow old town lanes and courtyards. Smaller Feuerwehr units in particular valued this manoeuvrable solution for lower buildings. An exciting scene at a half timbered house in the old town or in front of a small fire station on the TT gauge layout.
